New Greek talents shine as Dortmund starts Bundesliga season with a win

Borussia Dortmund kicked off their Bundesliga campaign with a convincing 2-0 victory over Hamburger SV, thanks in large part to the dazzling performances of their new Greek recruits, Giannis Konstantelias and Konstantinos Karetsas.

Konstantelias and Karetsas, both making their league debuts, immediately made their mark. Karetsas was involved in the build-up to the opening goal in the ninth minute, assisting Serhou Guirassy. Konstantelias then doubled Dortmund's lead just before halftime, scoring in first-half stoppage time. The young duo brought energy and technical skill to Dortmund's attack, delighting the 81,365 spectators at the stadium.

Despite the positive result, Dortmund finished the match with ten men. Samuele Inácio, who had just come on as a substitute, was shown a red card in the 77th minute for a foul. The HSV team, meanwhile, struggled to create clear chances and appeared overwhelmed by Dortmund's pace at times, though they did increase pressure after Dortmund went down to ten men, hitting the post late in the game.

The victory marks a promising start for coach Niko Kovac's side, with the new signings showing immediate impact. However, the team will need to manage such incidents as red cards if they are to maintain a strong season. Konstantelias, who scored the second goal, was later substituted due to injury, adding a note of caution to the otherwise celebratory start.
