New JAMB Registrar Vows Uncompromising War on Exam Malpractice

Nigeria's newly appointed Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Segun Aina, has pledged to wage a relentless battle against examination malpractice. During the formal handover ceremony at JAMB's National Headquarters in Abuja, Prof. Aina issued a stern warning to syndicates, impersonators, and corrupt operators involved in fraud, stating their "business is in the wrong institution."

Professor Aina committed to safeguarding the integrity of Nigeria's tertiary admission system. He plans to deploy all lawful technological, administrative, and investigative tools to identify, prevent, and prosecute individuals engaged in malpractices. His vision includes fostering a more transparent, customer-centric, and technology-driven examination board that will enhance confidence among candidates, parents, and higher education institutions nationwide.

To those who organise examination malpractice, recruit impersonators, forge credentials, compromise CBT centres, exploit desperate candidates and parents, engage in cybercrime, extortion, bribery or identity theft, hear me clearly: your business is in the wrong institution.

"Every admission secured through fraud amounts to the theft of opportunity, hope, and the future of Nigeria," Prof. Aina declared. He stressed that JAMB would collaborate closely with security and law enforcement agencies and invest in advanced technologies and global best practices to stay ahead of fraudsters. He emphasized that the future belongs to those who prepare honestly, not those who cheat, as fraudulent admissions steal places from deserving Nigerian students.
