New James Bond actor to be revealed by year's end, producer says

The search for the next James Bond actor is nearing a conclusion, with producer Amy Pascal anticipating an announcement by the end of 2026. Pascal, who will produce the upcoming film following Amazon MGM Studios' acquisition of the Bond franchise, described the casting process as methodical and meticulous.

Speculation about who will succeed Daniel Craig as the iconic 007 has been rife for years. Pascal, who has extensive experience in the film industry, having served as co-chair of Sony Pictures from 2003 to 2015 when the studio distributed several Bond films, acknowledged the challenge of following Craig's tenure. "I have already worked with Barbara Broccoli in the studio and I know: Daniel Craig leaves huge shoes to fill," Pascal said. "Succeeding him is not an easy task. That's why the new beginning has to be something truly special – brave, captivating, and above all, different from what we have seen so far."

British media have suggested actors such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Callum Turner, alongside Australian actor Jacob Elordi, as potential candidates. Insiders reportedly favor a lesser-known British actor in their late twenties or early thirties for the role. British casting director Nina Gold has been engaged for the search, while Canadian director Denis Villeneuve and British screenwriter Steven Knight are attached to the project.
