New Norkor Oyoko family head calls for unity, accountability

Samuel Boadu Dankwa has been installed as the new Ebusuapanyin (family head) of the Norkor Oyoko Family in Sakyikrom, Eastern Region, Ghana. Following his enstoolment, Dankwa called for unity and accountability among family members, emphasizing the need to place collective interests above individual gains.

In an interview with The Ghanaian Times, Dankwa highlighted truthfulness, transparency, and effective communication as crucial for maintaining peace, resolving disputes, and fostering long-term development within the family. He expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and pledged to lead with humility, fairness, and dedication, promising a transparent and inclusive administration.

Dankwa outlined his vision for the family, which includes constructing a dedicated family house to serve as a venue for meetings and gatherings. He also proposed investing in a family-owned transport business and other ventures to create employment opportunities for the youth and generate income for development projects.

He said he viewed his new role as a call to serve with humility, fairness and dedication, and pledged to lead a transparent and inclusive administration that would address the concerns of all members through consultation and dialogue.

A significant challenge identified by Dankwa is the encroachment on family lands, which he stated has hindered growth and resulted in the loss of valuable resources. He assured members that steps are being taken to address this issue through legal means and in collaboration with relevant authorities to protect the family's heritage. Dankwa stressed that all family matters would be handled collectively, with decisions made in the best interest of all members.
