New Partial Closures at Ljubljana Train Station for Construction

Ljubljana's main train station is undergoing significant disruptions starting today due to extensive construction work as part of a major railway hub upgrade. These changes will affect passenger access to platforms and train services, requiring travelers to plan for longer journey times and potential transfers.

Slovenian Railways has announced that alternative bus transport will be arranged for certain train services on the Ljubljana-Kranj-Jesenice-Villach line, specifically between Ljubljana and Kranj. Passengers on trains 2403 and 2499 are warned of a mandatory transfer from electric to diesel train sets due to work at the main station and power outages at Ljubljana Vižmarje station. Train 2403 departed Ljubljana Vižmarje at 6:30 AM, and train 2499 is scheduled to depart at 8:37 AM.

Travelers are advised to depart early, as accessing the temporary platforms from the main station building will take approximately 10 minutes on foot. On the Ljubljana-Borovnica-Divača-Koper route, trains will operate from temporary platforms on Dunajska cesta or track 94 between 6:05 AM and 5:30 PM. Regional train RG 1605 departed from the central part of the station at 6:00 AM. Alternative bus services will also be provided for some connections between Ljubljana and Borovnica, with buses stopping near track 1 at the Ljubljana train station.

Services between Ljubljana, Zidani Most, Maribor, and Dobova will run to or from temporary platforms at the intersection of Masarykova Street and Njegoševa Street (tracks 95-98) between 6:05 AM and 5:30 PM. Some trains between Ljubljana and Ljubljana Zalog will also have alternative bus transport. For transit passengers continuing their journey towards Koper, alternative bus services will operate from temporary platforms on Masarykova Street to Ljubljana Dolgi Most station, where they will transfer to train IC 503. Sunday will see alternative transport for trains EC 210 and EC 211 due to works between Ljubljana Zalog and Brezovica. No changes are expected for services towards Dolenjska.
