The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change has introduced amendments to the Regulation on the Administration of Treasury Real Estate, focusing on the effective governance of coastal and shoreline strips.

Published in the Official Gazette on August 9, 2026, the updated regulations allow for the maintenance, repair, security, and cleaning of designated coastal areas. These responsibilities can now be undertaken not only by municipalities and local government unions but also by relevant units within the Ministry itself. The ministry's central organization, revolving fund management directorates, and affiliated institutions can lease these areas through established protocols.
