New School Building Opens in Bíldudal After Mold Issues

The inauguration of the new school building on Bíldudal marks a significant milestone for the community, providing a much-needed modern and welcoming environment for its youngest residents. Forced to relocate school activities in 2022, the community rallied together, transforming the Bíldudalskirkja community hall and the unique Skrímslasetrið into temporary classrooms. After having to move the school's operations and work under challenging conditions for a time, it is especially gratifying to stand here today and put this magnificent new facility into use.

The new facility, designed by Arkibygg arkitektar and GINGa teiknistofa and constructed by Arctic North, emphasizes a warm, bright, and accessible atmosphere.
