New Taipei City has clinched a spot in the semifinals of the Yushan Cup national youth baseball championship, defeating Taoyuan City 3-2 in a closely contested game. The victory came after a crucial sixth-inning rally where New Taipei City capitalized on defensive errors to score three runs, overturning an early deficit.

Taoyuan City had taken the lead in the first inning with a timely double, and their ace left-handed pitcher, Liu Ren-you from Pingzhen High School, had been dominant through the first five innings, allowing only two hits and striking out eight. However, New Taipei City's offense broke through in the sixth, with key hits from Zhang Yi-an and Huang Shi-yao, followed by a decisive two-run single from Du Yi-ze.

New Taipei City's head coach, Yang Xiao-cheng, acknowledged the high level of play from both teams, attributing the win to his team's ability to seize opportunities in the sixth inning. He specifically highlighted Du Yi-ze's clutch hit, hoping it would boost the player's confidence for the upcoming draft. Meanwhile, in Group B, Taitung County also advanced to the semifinals by defeating Tainan City 3-1, marking their second consecutive semifinal appearance.
