New Taipei City candidate Li Ssu-chuan receives warm support during market campaign

New Taipei City mayoral candidate Li Ssu-chuan engaged with voters during a campaign stop at the Zhonghe Heping Evening Market. The candidate, representing the Kuomintang party, received enthusiastic support from stall owners and residents as he canvassed the area.

Li shared his experience on Facebook, describing the warmth he felt from the public despite the high temperatures. He recounted an emotional moment where a female vendor, upon greeting her, became tearful and offered him several bottles of herbal tea to help him cope with the heat. Li interpreted this gesture as a sign of the significant expectations placed upon him.

A boss's wife, as soon as I greeted her, her eyes turned red. She didn't say anything, just picked up a bag and put several bottles of herbal tea in it for me to cool down. Just this kind of action, I knew how heavy this expectation is.

He also mentioned other interactions, including a resident who followed him for a long time and urged him to "keep going," and a mother whose son working at TSMC promised to return and vote for him. These expressions of support, Li stated, motivated him to persevere despite the remaining campaign period's challenges.
