New Taipei City's Sanying Line MRT to Host Grand Opening Celebration, Extend Yingge Station Hours

New Taipei City is set to celebrate the grand opening of its Sanying Line MRT with a large-scale event near the New Taipei City Museum of Art on July 4 and 5. The new line, which began trial operations with two months of free rides on June 30, is expected to draw significant crowds.

To accommodate the anticipated influx of visitors, the New Taipei City Mass Rapid Transit Company announced that the LB08 Yingge Station will extend its operating hours until 10 PM on July 4 and 5. All other stations on the Sanying Line will maintain their regular trial operation hours, closing at 8 PM. During the extended hours from 8 PM to 10 PM, access to the MRT system will be restricted to entry only at LB08 Yingge Station, with passengers able to exit at any station.

Currently, all rides on the Sanying Line are free for passengers using electronic fare cards during the trial operation period. Regular operating hours outside of special events are from 10 AM to 8 PM. The MRT company is continuously testing the system and making improvements based on passenger flow and operational data.

Adding a unique element to the celebration, the company has released a "temperature-sensitive" brochure for the Sanying Line. This limited-edition item offers passengers a chance to collect stamps at each of the 12 stations, creating a personalized album. The brochure also features a black pottery pot design on its cover; when warmed by hand, it reveals characteristic patterns of the Sanying area, symbolizing local craftsmanship. The company encourages attendees to utilize the convenient transfer between the Sanying Line and the TRA railway and to follow staff guidance for a safe and orderly experience.
