New Taipei Joint Wedding Registration Opens, Couples to Receive Handmade Rings, Appliances, and Chance to Win Prizes

New Taipei City is inviting couples to register for its annual joint wedding ceremony, scheduled for September 5th at Xinzhuang Dianhua Banquet Hall. Registration opens now and closes on June 26th at 5 p.m., with a limited capacity of 100 couples.

Selected couples will receive a generous package of gifts, including custom-made handmade rings, hotel accommodation vouchers, and a choice of home appliances. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to enter a lucky draw for prizes such as round-trip tickets to Venice, Italy, or Japan and South Korea, among other valuable items. Couples who are on the waiting list and reside in New Taipei City may also win hotel vouchers or dining coupons.

He joked that the golden shovels he gave out had an 80% pregnancy rate, and the city government is planning single mixers, joint wedding events, and post-marriage support such as egg freezing subsidies, good pregnancy taxis, birth incentives, milk for newborns, and public childcare, hoping to help newlyweds 'marry happily, dare to have children, and be able to raise them.'

New Taipei City Deputy Mayor Liu He-ran highlighted the city's commitment to supporting newlyweds. He mentioned the city's initiatives, such as matchmaking events, the joint wedding, and post-marriage support including egg freezing subsidies, transportation for pregnant women, birth incentives, and public childcare services. These programs aim to create an environment where couples feel encouraged to marry, have children, and raise them successfully.

Civil Affairs Bureau Director Lin Yao-chang detailed the wedding gifts, which include handmade rings, a choice of three home appliances, hotel vouchers, fingerprint-engraved cups, and tea gift boxes. The lucky draw boasts nearly NT$700,000 worth of prizes, with a 50% chance of winning. Couples who conceive within a year of marriage will receive a "Good Pregnancy" gift box, a baby gift from a tourist factory, and a DIY baby clothing experience voucher.
