New TASFUED VC unveils six-year strategic roadmap

Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED) has a new vision for its future, articulated by its sixth Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oladipo. Upon his investiture, Prof. Oladipo unveiled a comprehensive six-year strategic roadmap designed to elevate the university's standing through academic excellence, digital transformation, research innovation, and financial sustainability.

Prof. Oladipo pledged transformational leadership grounded in accountability, innovation, and service. He described his appointment as both an honor and a profound responsibility, acknowledging the institution's founding ideals and legacy. "It is with profound humility and a deep sense of responsibility that I stand before you today at this historic moment, my investiture as the sixth Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education," he stated. "I am honoured to lead an institution founded on noble ideals, a legacy of excellence, and a steadfast commitment to education and societal progress."

The university, established in 2005 and transitioning to Federal University status in 2025, is poised for enhanced national and international relevance. The strategic framework, dubbed the S.T.A.R.-W.I.N. agenda, will guide sustainable development. This agenda encompasses Sustainable Funding and Smart Governance, Technology and Digital Campus, Academic Excellence and Innovation, Research Productivity and Global Ranking, Welfare and Wellbeing, Infrastructural Development, and National Alumni and International Relations.

"Our bold yet attainable vision is to position TASFUED among Nigeria’s top 25 universities and within the top 3,000 globally by 2031," Oladipo declared. Achieving this ambitious goal will involve prioritizing financial sustainability through revenue generation and commercial ventures, accelerating digital transformation with improved connectivity and smart classrooms, and fostering impactful research and global collaborations. The focus remains on integrity and societal service as guiding principles.
