New Traffic Jams Towards the Coast: Kilometer-Long Queues Form, Accident on A1 Causes Delays

Croatian highways are facing significant congestion as holidaymakers travel to and from the coast. The A1 highway, a primary route connecting Zagreb to popular coastal destinations like Split and Zadar, is experiencing the most severe delays. Drivers heading south face queues stretching about a kilometer before the Lučko toll plaza. Traffic heading north, however, remains largely unaffected.

Adding to the travel woes, a traffic accident occurred between the Jastrebarsko and Karlovac junctions on the A1, near the Draganić rest area. Emergency services have implemented speed restrictions in the affected area, further slowing down traffic. The Croatian Auto Club (HAK) urges drivers to exercise patience, adjust their speed to road conditions, and maintain a safe distance between vehicles.

Congestion is also reported on the A2 highway towards Macelj. Toll stations at Trakošćan are seeing queues of approximately one kilometer for those heading towards Zagreb. HAK will continue to provide updates on the traffic situation throughout the day.
