New Zealand boosts Fijian election readiness with digital equipment

The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) has received crucial digital equipment from the New Zealand Government to bolster its readiness for the upcoming General Election.

Supervisor of Elections Ana Mataiciwa stated that the equipment will significantly enhance the FEO's capacity to produce high-quality voter education content and deliver timely, accessible, and trustworthy electoral services. She emphasized that this donation underscores the strong partnership between Fiji and New Zealand, contributing to increased public confidence in the integrity of the electoral process.

Sam Cox, Chargé d’Affaires at the New Zealand High Commission, noted that the equipment will aid the FEO in its engagement efforts with stakeholders and voters. He also recognized the vital role FEO staff play in serving Fiji's democracy. The provided equipment will be utilized by the FEO’s Stakeholder Engagement and Awareness Department and Production Unit to strengthen voter awareness campaigns and multimedia production capabilities.
