Argentine national team defender Nicolás Tagliafico and his wife, Carolina Calvagni, are enjoying a well-deserved break on the picturesque Greek island of Zante. Following the intense competition of the 2026 World Cup final, the couple chose this Ionian jewel for a period of rest and rejuvenation.

Zante, also known as Zakynthos, is celebrated for its stunning natural beauty, characterized by white-sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and dramatic mountainous backdrops. Calvagni, an influencer, has shared glimpses of their idyllic escape on Instagram, showcasing their accommodation with direct access to the coast and lush green spaces. She expressed her delight with the island's scenery, calling the sea's intense blue her "favorite color" and sharing moments of relaxation, like Tagliafico enjoying a traditional Argentine mate during sunset.

The island, though compact at approximately 40 kilometers long and 20 wide, boasts world-renowned sites. Navagio Beach, famously known as Shipwreck Beach or the Smugglers' Cave, is a major draw. Its striking landscape features a shipwreck integrated into the natural scenery of the cove, accessible only by sea. The contrast between the gray cliffs and the Mediterranean's vibrant blue waters makes it a unique destination.

Beyond Navagio, Zante offers other notable beaches such as Laganas, Xigia, and Gerakas. Visitors can also embark on glass-bottom boat tours from Limni Keriou port for a chance to observe sea turtles in their natural environment. Tagliafico is expected to return to his club, Olympique de Lyon, with whom he has a contract until mid-2027, after this restorative vacation.
