Nicolai Rapp transfers from Karlsruher SC to Dynamo Dresden

Dynamo Dresden has secured the services of midfielder Nicolai Rapp, 29, who transfers from Karlsruher SC within the 2. Bundesliga. Rapp joins Dresden on a free transfer, aiming to fill the void left by Kofi Amoako's move to Hamburger SV.

Rapp expressed his fondness for his previous club, stating, "I wore the KSC jersey with great pleasure for two and a half years." His arrival is seen as a significant boost for Dresden, with Sporting Director Sören Gonther highlighting his capabilities. "Nicolai knows the league extremely well and can give a team the necessary stability with his style of play and also provide important offensive impulses for build-up play," Gonther said.

The Heidelberg-born Rapp brings a wealth of experience, having developed in the youth academy of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. He has previously played in the 2. Bundesliga for SpVgg Greuther Fürth, FC Erzgebirge Aue, 1. FC Union Berlin, and Darmstadt 98. He also made appearances in the Bundesliga for Werder Bremen. After a loan spell at 1. FC Kaiserslautern, he joined KSC in 2024. In total, the 29-year-old has played nine Bundesliga matches and 211 games in the 2. Bundesliga.

Meanwhile, striker Fabian Schleusener is also leaving KSC after five years to join Fortuna Düsseldorf, marking another significant player movement for the club.
