Romanian President Nicușor Dan announced on Wednesday that political parties have concluded that a "pro-Western, minority government" will be formed. This comes after consultations regarding the formation of the next government.

Dan explained that the parties are currently in a phase where they are formulating their conditions for supporting a minority executive, without becoming part of it. "We had a round of discussions yesterday, and it was concluded that we will have a pro-Western, minority government, and now the parties are in the period where they have assumed they will come with conditions to support, without being part of the government, the minority government," he said in Cluj-Napoca.

He expressed hope that the parties will act seriously and conclude the government formation process soon. Meetings between party leaders are scheduled for Thursday, with the expectation that they will present the outcomes of their negotiations on Friday. This process aims to establish a stable government following recent political developments.

In parallel, leaders from the PNL, USR, and UDMR parties have presented the president with a working scenario for a potential political agreement to support the future government, regardless of who is designated as prime minister. Several potential prime minister candidates are being analyzed, including figures from PSD like Sorin Grindeanu, as well as options from the PNL-USR-UDMR bloc.
