Nigeria, Niger customs boost border trade cooperation

Customs authorities from Nigeria and the Niger Republic are strengthening their collaboration to enhance trade along their shared border. The two nations are actively engaged in discussions to resolve issues that have been hindering commercial activities, particularly along the Kamba–Tungan Gyado border corridor.

This initiative seeks to streamline processes and remove barriers that impede the flow of goods between the two West African countries. The focus is on creating a more conducive environment for traders and businesses operating in the region.

Recently, a trade delegation from Niger's Customs (Douanes du Niger) visited the Nigeria Customs Service headquarters in Abuja. This meeting served as a platform to deliberate on specific challenges and explore practical solutions for improving cross-border trade efficiency. The ongoing dialogue signifies a commitment from both administrations to foster economic ties and regional integration.
