Nigeria's Ambassador Presents Credentials to South Korean President

Professor Nora Ladi Daduut has formally assumed her role as Nigeria's Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, presenting her Letter of Credence to South Korean President Lee Jae Myung at the Blue House in Seoul. The ceremony on Wednesday saw President Lee officially accredit eight new ambassadors, including Daduut, to begin their diplomatic assignments.

Daduut stated she was among envoys from Brazil, El Salvador, Colombia, Laos, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Tanzania, and Nigeria who were received by the South Korean leader. The presentation of credentials is a crucial diplomatic protocol, officially empowering ambassadors to commence their duties.

Her mission would focus on promoting Nigeria’s national interest while expanding mutually beneficial partnerships between the two countries.

Her appointment is anticipated to bolster diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and South Korea. Key areas for enhanced cooperation include trade, investment, technology transfer, education, and cultural exchange. President Lee expressed optimism that the new appointments would deepen bilateral ties.

Daduut thanked President Bola Tinubu for the confidence placed in her, vowing to justify the appointment through dedicated service and active diplomacy. Her goal is to attract greater Korean investment, technology, and innovation to support Nigeria's economic development. Earlier, she met with the President of the Korea-Africa Foundation, Kim Young Chae, to discuss strengthening collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
