Nigeria's APC Completes 2027 Candidate Upload Ahead of Deadline

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria has completed the upload of all its candidates for the 2027 general election onto the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal, well ahead of the initial deadline. National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda announced the achievement, highlighting it as a testament to the party's organizational prowess, institutional discipline, and preparedness for the upcoming elections.

Yilwatda noted that while the APC finalized its submissions within the original timeframe, several other political parties faced difficulties. These parties appealed to INEC for more time, leading the commission to extend the deadline from August 8 to August 11, 2026. The APC chairman characterized this successful upload as a move beyond slogan-based politics towards a focus on structure, planning, systems, and execution.

The APC chairman further stressed the significance of this organizational feat, particularly as the 2027 elections are anticipated to be highly consequential for Nigeria. He argued that such elections require parties to demonstrate not only popularity but also strong capacity, internal coordination, and overall preparedness. The APC's performance, he added, should be viewed against the complexity of managing a nationwide political organization with structures in every state, senatorial district, federal constituency, and local government area, requiring meticulous coordination between national and state chapters, candidates, and other party entities.
