Nigeria's Civil Defence, Immigration Services shortlist candidates for physical screening

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially moved its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise into the physical screening and document verification phase. This development marks a significant step forward for thousands of applicants who participated in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted in November 2025.

Applicants are required to log in using the Application Number generated at the time of initial registration. If shortlisted, applicants will be required to upload their credentials, select a date and venue of their choice for physical screening.

Candidates are instructed to visit the official recruitment portal, recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, from Monday, June 15, to Friday, June 20, to ascertain their status. Access requires the unique Application Number generated during the initial registration. Those who are shortlisted will be guided through the process of uploading necessary credentials and selecting a preferred date and venue for their physical screening. The board stressed the importance of meticulously following all instructions provided on the portal to ensure a smooth process.

In a strong advisory, the CDCFIB reiterated that the recruitment exercise is entirely free. It issued a stern warning against any individuals, agents, or organizations soliciting money under the guise of influencing shortlisting, venue allocation, document upload, or final selection. The board affirmed its commitment to maintaining a transparent, credible, and merit-based process, in strict adherence to established recruitment regulations.

The Board wishes to emphasize that the recruitment process is completely FREE. Hence, no FEE should be paid by applicants to any individual, agent, group or organization claiming to render assistance with shortlisting, venue allocation, document upload, access to screening venue, or final selection.

The recruitment drive encompasses four key paramilitary agencies: the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), and the Federal Fire Service (FFS). The process began with online applications in July 2025, followed by the CBT. The CDCFIB has previously assured applicants that the exercise, though thorough, is being managed efficiently to conclude within a reasonable timeframe, prioritizing justice, merit, federal character, and due process.
