Nigeria’s e-hailing market gets new entrant as PromiseLand launches ProTaxi 1 October

Nigeria’s e-hailing market is set to get a new local platform when PromiseLand Innovations launches ProTaxi on October 1, 2026.

The company describes ProTaxi as a technology-driven service connecting passengers with drivers while offering safer, reliable and affordable urban transport. Its strategy places particular emphasis on electric vehicles, which PromiseLand says could lower operating costs for drivers and eventually make fares more affordable.

The platform will allow passengers to book trips through an application, connect with nearby drivers, use multiple payment options and receive trip information and receipts. Safety features will include driver verification, real-time tracking, ratings and reviews. Passengers will also be able to share their live locations with family and friends during journeys.

Drivers will have flexible earning options and can choose their schedules, whether they want to work full-time or for selected hours. Chief Executive Officer Lawrence Oloche said the platform would be available to Nigerians from October 1 and described its wider objective as improving mobility in Africa through technology, affordable transport, economic opportunities and environmental benefits.

PromiseLand said it ultimately wants ProTaxi to become a leading environmentally friendly ride-hailing platform in Africa. The launch extends the company’s interests beyond real estate, including its stated plan to develop 100,000 housing units across Nigeria, beginning in the Federal Capital Territory, into the mobility sector.
