Nigerian Army dismisses fake SSC recruitment

The Nigerian Army has issued a strong warning against a fraudulent recruitment advertisement circulating online for its Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027. The Army categorically stated that the advertisement, which has appeared on social media and other online platforms, is false and did not originate from them.

The Nigerian Army has observed a fake advertisement circulating on social media and other online platforms, inviting applications for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027. The Nigerian Army categorically states that this advertisement is false, fraudulent and did not emanate from the Nigerian Army.

Col. Appolonia Anele, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, urged the public to disregard the fake advert and cautioned prospective applicants against making any payments to individuals or websites claiming to recruit on the Army's behalf. The statement emphasized that all Nigerian Army recruitment and commissioning exercises are strictly free, transparent, and merit-based.

The public is hereby warned to disregard the fake advertisement. Prospective applicants are advised not to apply through, patronise or make payments to any individual, group or website claiming to conduct recruitment on behalf of the Nigerian Army.

Official recruitment announcements are exclusively made through national newspapers, the Army's verified social media channels, and other recognized official communication platforms. The Army stressed that no forms are sold, and no person or agent is authorized to facilitate recruitment or demand payment at any stage of the process. Security agencies have been alerted to identify, apprehend, and prosecute anyone involved in creating or distributing the fake advertisement to defraud innocent Nigerians.

The public is advised to verify all recruitment information solely through official Nigerian Army channels and to report any suspicious recruitment activities to the nearest military formation or security agency. Those found culpable in the fraudulent scheme will face the full extent of the law.
