Nigerian Army Division Commander Tasks Commanders on Efficiency, Welfare

Commanders within Nigeria's 81 Division have been charged to enhance operational efficiency and troop welfare through tangible project delivery. Major General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), issued this directive during the recent inauguration of several key infrastructural projects at the Division's Headquarters in Lagos.

The newly commissioned projects include the renovation of the Arm Store, administrative offices for various command staff, and the Garrison Headquarters Complex. A training shed was also refurbished. The ceremony also marked the groundbreaking for a modern children's playground, underscoring a commitment to the welfare of military families.

Major General Babalola commended Brigadier General AI Getso, the Commander of the 81 Division Garrison, for demonstrating purposeful leadership. He stated that these initiatives align with the Chief of Army Staff's "Soldier First Culture" philosophy, which prioritizes personnel well-being. The GOC emphasized that leadership effectiveness should be demonstrated through visible, monthly impacts within units and formations.

Brigadier General Getso explained that the projects aim to boost the Garrison's operational effectiveness and improve the living and working conditions for personnel. The children's playground, to be named after the GOC, will serve as a safe recreational space for families residing in the barracks. He also acknowledged the support of the Chief of Army Staff and other contributors to the projects' success.
