Nigerian Army Warns of Fake Recruitment Ad

The Nigerian Army is alerting the public to a fraudulent recruitment advertisement for its Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027. The fake advertisement has been circulating on social media and other online platforms.

The Nigerian Army categorically states that this advertisement is false, fraudulent and did not emanate from the Nigerian Army.

Col. Appolonia Anele, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, stated that the advertisement is false and did not originate from the Nigerian Army. She warned the public against patronizing or making payments to any individuals or websites claiming to be recruiting for the Army.

Official recruitment announcements are made only through national newspapers, the Nigerian Army’s verified social media platforms and other recognised official communication channels.

Anele stressed that all Army recruitment processes are free, transparent, and merit-based. Official announcements are exclusively made through national newspapers and the Army's verified social media and communication channels. She also noted that no recruitment forms are sold and no agent is authorized to facilitate recruitment or demand payment.

The Army spokesperson advised the public to verify recruitment information through official channels to avoid falling victim to scams. Security agencies have been activated to identify, arrest, and prosecute those responsible for the fake advertisement, with a warning that culprits will face the full extent of the law. The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity of its recruitment processes and encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activities.
