Nigerian Governor Hails Tinubu's Security Commitment After Schoolchildren Rescue

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has lauded President Bola Tinubu's dedication to combating insecurity, citing the recent rescue of abducted schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State as clear evidence. The successful operation secured the release of the victims who had been held captive for over 55 days following their abduction on May 15, 2026.

In a statement released on Saturday, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended President Tinubu and the collective efforts of Nigeria's security agencies. He specifically highlighted the collaborative work of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Police Force in executing the coordinated rescue mission.

He extended his congratulations to the people of Oyo State, particularly the residents of Ogbomoso, for this "encouraging development."
