Nigerian Judo Stakeholders Back President Oshodi

Leaders within Nigerian Judo have thrown their full support behind the federation's president, Dr. Musa Oshodi, passing a unanimous vote of confidence. This strong endorsement stems from what stakeholders describe as his visionary leadership and the significant achievement of securing a historic bronze medal at the recent Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The Nigeria Judo Coaches Association, Referees Association, and Athletes’ Representative all issued separate statements on August 26, 2026, pledging their unwavering support for Dr. Oshodi's administration. The Coaches Association, led by President Oluwatoyin Emmanuel Ojo, noted the federation's continuous growth and increasing national and international prominence under Oshodi's guidance. They specifically congratulated the NJF on Enku Ekuta's bronze medal, calling it a clear indicator of the administration's successful development efforts.

The Referees Association, headed by Chairman Godspower Geoffrey, emphasized the historical significance of the Glasgow medal, noting it ended Nigeria's 24-year medal drought in Judo at the Commonwealth Games. They attributed this "landmark accomplishment" to Dr. Oshodi's "strategic reforms, athlete-centered policies, and dedication to repositioning Nigerian Judo on the global stage."
