Nigerian Troops Rescue 10 Kidnap Victims, Arrest Seven Suspects, Neutralize One Terrorist

Nigerian troops have intensified operations across various theaters, achieving significant successes in combating insecurity over the past week. Between June 30 and July 3, 2026, forces rescued 10 kidnapped individuals, apprehended seven suspected terrorists and collaborators, and neutralized one terrorist.

Major General Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, reported these achievements, highlighting the surrender of seven terrorists and their families due to sustained military pressure. The operations also led to the recovery of arms, ammunition, and other essential logistics. These successes are crucial in countering terrorist activities and ensuring the safety of citizens.

Troops conducting fighting patrols and clearance operations across various theatres of operation have rescued 10 kidnapped victims, arrested seven suspected terrorists and criminal collaborators, and neutralised one terrorist in the past week.

In the North-East, troops intercepted three logistics suppliers in Borno State and repelled a terrorist attack in Buratai District, recovering weapons. The ongoing surrender of terrorists, including a wife and her children, indicates the impact of military operations. In the North-West, a female kidnap victim was rescued in Kaduna State, with ongoing efforts to secure the area.

Further operations in the North-Central region led to the raid of a gun-running hideout in Taraba State and the rescue of three kidnap victims in Nasarawa State, including a soldier. The military's sustained pressure is yielding positive results in reclaiming security across the nation.
