Nigerian troops rescue 14 kidnap victims on highway

Nigerian troops have rescued 14 individuals who were kidnapped along the Lagos-Benin Expressway. The operation, conducted by the 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Benin, successfully thwarted a kidnapping incident that occurred on Thursday night.

The sustained pressure mounted by the troops forced the kidnappers to abandon 11 abducted victims before fleeing into the surrounding forest.

According to Captain Kennedy Anyanwu, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 4 Brigade, troops on a routine patrol received intelligence about the kidnapping. They immediately launched a pursuit of the perpetrators along their escape route. This pressure forced the kidnappers to abandon 11 victims before fleeing into the surrounding forest.
