Nigerian wanted in India over 3.3kg MDMA seizure

Indian authorities have issued a Look Out Circular for Emmanuel Afam, a Nigerian national reportedly linked to the seizure of 3.3 kilograms of MDMA in Kerala. Afam is currently absconding as the Kerala Excise Department intensifies its investigation into the drug bust near the Pantheerankavu toll plaza in Kozhikode.

Nine individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. The Look Out Circular aims to prevent Afam from leaving the country while authorities pursue leads. The investigation is part of a wider enforcement drive by the Kerala Excise Department aimed at curbing the smuggling and illegal sale of narcotic substances, liquor, and banned tobacco products during the ongoing Onam festival.

The special investigation into the seizure of 3.3 kg of MDMA near the Pantheerankavu toll plaza in Kozhikode has been intensified.

The Onam Special Enforcement Drive, which commenced on August 1 and will conclude on August 31, has reportedly led to 8,241 cases and 36,633 arrests across Kerala. The department has been conducting surprise raids and inspections at identified drug and liquor hotspots, suspected storage locations, and the hideouts of habitual offenders.
