Night of Terror in Antioquia: Violent Clash Between Criminal Gangs in Andes Leaves Two Dead, Including a 15-Year-Old

A violent clash between criminal gangs in the rural area of Andes, Antioquia, has resulted in the deaths of two individuals, one of whom was a 15-year-old boy. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 27, in the Alto de los Carvajal sector, disrupting the peace of the Santa Inés corregimiento with intense gunfire.

The following morning, residents took it upon themselves to transport the two bodies, bearing gunshot wounds, to the municipal morgue. While some local reports suggest a third fatality, the Antioquia Police report officially confirms two deceased. The identified victim is Yojan Doney Bedoya Montoya, aged 15. The second victim's identity and age remain unconfirmed by judicial experts.

Preliminary investigations by the CTI of the Prosecutor's Office, which handled the technical inspection of the bodies, indicate that the attack likely stemmed from a brutal confrontation between illegal armed groups vying for control of drug trafficking routes and other illicit economies in this region of southwestern Antioquia.

Both the National Army and the National Police confirmed they were not conducting operations in the specific area at the time of the shooting. Judicial authorities are continuing to gather evidence and investigate the circumstances of this deadly incident, while also looking into community reports of a possible third victim.
