Night train service planned between Copenhagen and Brussels

A new night train service is on the horizon, aiming to connect Copenhagen directly with Amsterdam and Brussels. The Dutch-Belgian rail company European Sleeper announced its ambitious plan to make overnight travel between the Scandinavian capital and major European hubs a reality.

If approved, the service is slated to begin in the spring of 2028. Chris Engelsman, co-founder of European Sleeper, highlighted Copenhagen's enduring appeal for city breaks and noted a rising interest in "coolcations" – holidays in destinations with cooler climates.

The proposed route would run directly from Malmö and Copenhagen, through to Amsterdam and Brussels. European Sleeper is collaborating with the German rail company RDC on this venture.

However, the plan is still awaiting official authorization. A formal application for the route is expected to be submitted in April 2027. The company's website indicates that permission has not yet been granted.
