NIMASA Boss Reaffirms Commitment to Green Shipping, Decarbonisation

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) is actively pursuing a greener maritime future. Director General Dayo Mobereola recently met with Dr. Eugene Itua, CEO of Natural Eco Capital Limited, to discuss strategies for advancing maritime decarbonization and environmental protection.

During the meeting, Itua presented the Nigerian Green Shipping Excellence Programme and the Green Maritime Recognition Scheme. These initiatives aim to drive decarbonization, encourage cleaner technologies, attract climate investments, and establish Nigeria as a leader in sustainable shipping within the region.
