NiMet Predicts Three Days of Sunshine, Thunderstorms Across Nigeria

Nigeria is set for a mix of weather conditions over the next three days, with the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) forecasting sunshine, cloudiness, and thunderstorms nationwide from Sunday to Tuesday.

Thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall are expected in the morning over parts of Taraba, Adamawa, and Kaduna states. The North Central region will see morning thunderstorms over Plateau, Niger, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory, with similar conditions expected in the afternoon and evening across Kogi, Benue, Plateau, Niger, and Nasarawa states.

On Monday, the northern region will experience morning thunderstorms in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Adamawa, and Taraba states, followed by thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening across Borno, Jigawa, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Taraba, and Adamawa states.

On Tuesday, the northern region is forecast to have partly cloudy skies with chances of light thunderstorms in Bauchi, Jigawa, and Yobe states in the morning, followed by more widespread thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. The North Central region will see sunny skies in the morning, with thunderstorms expected later in the day, while the southern region will experience a cloudy atmosphere with prospects of light rains.
