Nine Paraguayan departments under severe thunderstorm warning

The Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) has issued a severe weather alert for nine departments across Paraguay, forecasting moderate to strong thunderstorms for Wednesday. Residents in these areas should prepare for heavy rainfall, strong wind gusts, and the possibility of occasional hail.

The DMH detailed that scattered storms with varying intensity persist nationwide. These conditions carry the potential for localized severe weather phenomena throughout the afternoon. The affected regions encompass the central, eastern, and northern parts of the Oriental Region, as well as the northeastern Chaco.

The nine departments under the weather alert are Concepción, the northern and central parts of San Pedro, Guairá, Caaguazú, Caazapá, Alto Paraná, Amambay, Canindeyú, and the eastern part of Alto Paraguay. The agency advises caution as these weather systems move across the country.
