NIS assures uninterrupted passport services during centralised printing shift

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has reassured the public that passport services will remain fully operational across the country. This assurance comes amid the relocation of passport printing operations to the Central Personalisation Centre at the Service Headquarters in Abuja.

The migration of production in passport offices to the Central Personalization Centre in Service Headquarters, Abuja is purely operational and does not in any way stop the processing and issuance of passports at any passport office within the country or designated Nigeria’s Embassies or Consulates.

The NIS clarified that the move is purely an operational adjustment and will not disrupt the processing or issuance of passports. Applicants can continue to access services at their preferred passport offices nationwide and at designated Nigerian embassies and consulates abroad. The service emphasized that only the printing stage of passport production has been centralized.

All passport offices across the country and other designated centres will continue to operate without hindrance; only printing of passports has been centralised at Service Headquarters, Abuja.

To ensure continued service delivery, the NIS has implemented measures to dispatch produced passports to various collection points within a two-week timeframe. The centralization of printing is intended to enhance coordination, efficiency, and overall service delivery within the passport production system. Nigerians seeking passport services are encouraged to proceed with their applications at their usual offices.
