Nissan's next-gen Note hatchback to debut next year with hybrid power

Nissan's popular Note hatchback is set to receive a significant overhaul, with a new generation model expected to debut next year. Japanese media reports suggest the updated car will adopt design elements from the larger Elgrand, giving it a more imposing presence. The body will be slightly wider, enhancing its visual appeal and potentially increasing interior space.

Under the hood, the new Note will feature Nissan's third-generation e-Power hybrid system. This system integrates the electric motor, generator, inverter, and gearbox into a single compact unit. It will be paired with a newly developed 1.4-liter engine, a step up from the current 1.2-liter unit. This powertrain is anticipated to deliver impressive fuel economy, with estimates suggesting up to 30 kilometers per liter.

Inside, the cabin is expected to mirror the modern approach seen in the Nissan Leaf, with a connected dual-screen setup. This likely includes two 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, creating a clean and high-tech environment. Higher-trim versions, such as the Aura, may also benefit from the BOSE Personal Plus sound system, specifically tuned for the Note.
