Nissan Unveils Serena Camper Van with "Sky Room" Pop-Up Roof

Nissan has introduced a unique camper van conversion of its popular Serena minivan, dubbed the P-SV, which boasts a novel "sky room" accessible via a manually operated pop-up roof. This innovative design transforms the spacious Serena into a versatile vehicle for outdoor enthusiasts and families seeking overnight accommodations.

The "Pop Roof Sleeping Version" (P-SV) creates a second-level sleeping space measuring 2,250mm in length, 1,100mm in width, and 1,150mm in height. An optional lower bunk can also be added, allowing the vehicle to comfortably sleep up to four people. When the roof is raised, the vehicle's total height reaches 3,020mm, providing ample headroom and an elevated view for occupants in the "sky room."

Built upon the recently facelifted Serena model, the P-SV features a roof that can be easily switched between a fully enclosed blackout mode and a mesh mode for ventilation using zipper closures. Nissan's P's Field Craft division, responsible for the conversion, also offers optional features such as an interior heater, auxiliary battery, and power outlets. The conversion is available for all Serena powertrain and drive variants.

The price for the Serena P-SV conversion starts at approximately 3.79 million yen and can go up to 5.15 million yen, depending on the chosen options and base model. This pricing reflects the added functionality and comfort for camping, leveraging the Serena's established reputation for a spacious interior, comfortable ride, and advanced ProPilot driver-assistance system.
