No higher education institutions affected by haze

No higher education institution in Malaysia has reported being affected by the haze so far, Higher Education Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir said.

The ministry is closely monitoring conditions, particularly in Sabah and Sarawak, where the haze has been described as severe. Universities, polytechnics and community colleges have been told to follow developments and comply with government instructions.

Zambry said several institutions in Sarawak, including Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, polytechnics and community colleges, have adopted flexible approaches. The arrangements are intended to keep students’ learning on track if haze conditions prevent them from attending classes in person.
