Noah Cameron dazzles with 1-hit game as Royals blank Angels 3-0

Noah Cameron delivered a masterful performance on the mound Sunday, throwing a one-hit shutout to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 3-0 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Cameron, now with a 7-8 record, was in complete control, striking out eight batters and issuing just one walk across nine innings.

The Angels' only hit came in the seventh inning when first baseman Vaughn Grissom hit a fly ball over shortstop Bobby Witt Jr.'s head. Cameron had been flawless up to that point, retiring the first 15 batters he faced before issuing a walk to Oswald Peraza in the sixth inning. Peraza advanced on a grounder but was left stranded as the inning ended with a strikeout and a groundout.

Cameron (7-8) struck out eight and walked one, throwing 115 pitches in nine innings.

Offensively, the Royals were powered by timely home runs. Michael Massey ignited the scoring with a solo shot in the fourth inning. Bobby Witt Jr. extended the lead in the fifth with his own solo blast, making it a 2-0 game. Carter Jensen added an RBI single in the seventh to round out the scoring at 3-0.

Angels pitcher Ryan Johnson (2-7) took the loss, allowing five hits and striking out four over 5 1/3 innings. He surrendered two earned runs and issued two walks in a game that ultimately belonged to Cameron's stellar pitching display.
