Noah Lyles wins third U.S. 100m title, matches personal best

Noah Lyles cemented his status as a top sprinter by winning his third U.S. 100-meter championship. He matched his personal best of 9.79 seconds, which also stands as the world's best time this season.

Despite a slightly slower start, Lyles unleashed a powerful surge in the final 30 meters to overtake veteran Ronnie Baker. Baker finished second with a time of 9.88 seconds, while Kenny Bednarek secured third place with the same time.

"My coach told me: 'Put your hand in their pocket, don't let them get away'... I did what I know," Lyles said after the race. This victory marks a strong return for Lyles after a recent defeat in Paris, where he finished just a tenth of a second behind Trayvon Bromell.

In the women's 100 meters, world champion and Olympic silver medalist Sha'Carri Richardson claimed her third national title. The 2023 world champion clocked 10.77 seconds, comfortably beating training partner Kayla White, who finished second at 10.90 seconds. Richardson's win comes after a challenging 2025 season where she did not reach the podium in her world title defense.
