Noora Komulainen Misses Cut at Women's British Open by One Stroke

Finnish golfer Noora Komulainen narrowly missed the cut at the Women's British Open, one of golf's major championships. Her performance over the first two rounds resulted in a total score of +5, placing her tied for 69th and just one stroke shy of advancing to the weekend's final rounds.

Komulainen's tournament journey began promisingly with a par score on the first day. However, the second round proved more challenging, with the 35-year-old golfer recording three bogeys and two double bogeys. The cut-off for the top 65 players and ties meant Komulainen's +5 total was insufficient to continue in the competition.

This marked Komulainen's fifth appearance in a major tournament. While she did not advance, players who miss the cut still receive prize money. Komulainen will earn $4,250 (approximately €3,700) for her participation in the event, which is the final major of the year.

Despite the setback at the British Open, Komulainen has had a successful season on the European Tour, having won one tournament earlier this year. The Women's British Open is currently led by South Korea's Haeran Ryu, who holds a score of -7.
