Norovirus in Frozen Berries: Lidl Expands Recall to More Batches

Lidl Austria has expanded its recall of "Freshona Bio Beerenmischung" (organic berry mix) due to the potential presence of Norovirus. The supermarket chain announced that the frozen berry product, sold in its stores, may contain the virus, which can cause gastrointestinal illness.

The recall was issued by the producer, Jütro Tiefkühlkost, and affects several batches of the 300g package. Lidl Austria stated that it cannot be ruled out that the affected product contains Norovirus. Consumers experiencing symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea could have consumed the contaminated berries.

Lidl is advising customers who purchased the "Freshona Bio Beerenmischung" to return it to any of their stores. The supermarket chain assured that a full refund will be provided, regardless of whether the customer presents a receipt. This measure aims to prevent further illness and ensure consumer safety.
