Norsk Tipping Again Experiences Technical Problems

Norsk Tipping, Norway's state-owned gambling company, is once again facing significant technical problems. Users reported being unable to access the platform on Tuesday evening, with login issues appearing to be widespread.

This outage is believed to be the result of a cyberattack, described by Norsk Tipping's press contact Roar Jødahl as similar to an incident that occurred over the weekend. "It is a corresponding attack that we experienced during the weekend, and we are working to stop it," Jødahl told VG. He added that the time required to fully restore services is difficult to predict and depends on the attack's scope.

Over the weekend, Norsk Tipping's betting services, Oddsen, were temporarily shut down due to a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack. Such attacks work by overwhelming a website or server with excessive fake traffic, rendering it unusable for legitimate users. The company is currently working to mitigate the impact of the ongoing attack and restore normal operations.
