North American aliyah wave continues as 2,200 immigrants set to arrive this summer

A significant wave of immigration from North America is currently underway, with over 2,200 individuals expected to arrive in Israel between June and September. This summer's influx represents an unprecedented surge in aliyah, facilitated by the organization Nefesh B'Nefesh.

The historic wave of aliyah we are experiencing this summer is the most moving testimony to the resilience of the Jewish people and to the deep connection between North American Jewry and the State of Israel.

August alone saw more than 1,100 new immigrants arrive, making it one of the organization's most active months since its establishment. Nefesh B'Nefesh anticipates that by the end of 2026, the total number of North American immigrants will exceed 4,000, potentially making this year one of the strongest for aliyah since the organization began its work in 2002.

The demographic profile of this summer's immigrants is notably young and diverse, with an average age of 29. The group includes approximately 480 families, over 1,100 single men and women, and around 250 retirees. Additionally, about 700 children and teenagers will start the upcoming school year in Israel, and roughly 300 young adults are expected to serve in the IDF or National Service.
