'North Coast Tide and Fire' event offers tours, workshops starting July 31

New Taipei City is set to launch its "2026 North Coast Tide and Fire" event, a vibrant festival running from July 31 to August 23. The event will span three key locations: Zhongjiao Bay, Zhongshan Hot Spring Park, and Jinshan Old Street, promising a blend of cultural experiences and artistic expression.

Attendees can anticipate spectacular fire dance performances, alongside unique activities designed to immerse them in the local charm. A "Jinshan Small Tour" will guide participants through the area's rich history, fishing culture, and hot spring traditions, uncovering stories beyond textbooks. This tour will feature an AI interactive light installation, "Fish Road Ancient Trail," developed in collaboration with Ming Chi University of Technology.

Further enriching the experience, the event offers a "Marine Debris Aesthetic DIY Workshop," encouraging participants to transform discarded ocean waste into art pieces, creating lasting summer memories of the North Coast. For those seeking tranquility, "Sunrise Yoga" sessions will be held on the beach, offering a serene start to the day with the morning light and sea breeze.

Registration for these free activities begins on July 20 at noon, with limited capacity. The event also includes an expanded marine market with nearly 30 vendors, a "Tide Fashion Mission Challenge" in collaboration with Jinshan Old Street, and a "3+1 Good Gifts" lucky draw. Additionally, participants who download and register for the "My New Taipei" app can receive a 100 New Taipei Coin voucher for use at the market and designated shops in Jinshan Old Street.
