North Jakarta Police Return Stolen Motorcycle to Online Taxi Driver Victim

Police in North Jakarta have returned a motorcycle to an online taxi driver who fell victim to fraud and theft, allowing him to continue earning a living. The vehicle was returned to Sutrisno, who relies on his motorcycle for daily income as an online taxi driver in Bekasi.

"Today, we are lending this evidence motorcycle to the victim so it can be used again to earn a living," said Head of Tanjung Priok Port Police, Police Grand Commissioner Aris Wibowo, in Jakarta on Monday. He added that the victim's livelihood heavily depends on the motorcycle.

Beyond returning the vehicle, the police chief also instructed the Head of Traffic Unit to assist Sutrisno with the administrative process for his lost driver's license. As a gesture of goodwill, the police also provided essential food supplies to Sutrisno and his family when they came to pick up the motorcycle at the police station on Monday night.

Sutrisno expressed deep gratitude for the police's efforts in recovering his motorcycle, stating, "We are grateful because this motorcycle is for earning a living. I will be careful in the future." He also prayed for the health and ease of duty for the police chief and his team. The police had arrested the suspect, identified by the initials WS, within two hours of the crime. The suspect had stolen Sutrisno's motorcycle on Thursday, June 18, in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
