North Kalimantan Governor Courts Investors at Apindo Expo, Promoting Green Energy and Industrial Growth

Governor Zainal A. Paliwang of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) actively promoted the province's investment potential at the Apindo UMKM & Business Investment Expo 2026 in Makassar. This strategic participation aims to draw the interest of both national and international business players.

Paliwang emphasized that Kaltara's presence at the expo, held August 3-4, 2026, is more than ceremonial. He described it as a crucial platform to demonstrate to the business community that Indonesia's youngest province possesses highly promising investment prospects. The provincial government is showcasing investment opportunities and flagship products from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM), targeting investors from within Indonesia and abroad.

The governor specifically highlighted Kaltara's strengths in industrial downstreaming and green energy sectors, identifying them as key drivers for significant economic growth in the region. Beyond large-scale projects, the promotion also focuses on export-oriented UMKM products, with the provincial government hoping to secure broader market access for small businesses operating in border areas.

Paliwang expressed optimism that the expo will lead to concrete investment collaborations. These partnerships are expected to accelerate job creation and improve the welfare of Kaltara's residents. The event also included the Apindo 2026 National Working Meeting and Business Investment Expo, attended by government ministers, ambassadors, national business leaders, and regional government representatives from Eastern Indonesia.
