Norwegian teen dies in Marbella hit-and-run

A 17-year-old from Norway's Agder region, Nikoline Piwoni Høie, died tragically after being struck by a vehicle in Marbella, Spain, on Monday. The incident occurred early Monday morning after she had been out watching Norway's World Cup match against Brazil.

The family is experiencing profound grief and is preparing to travel to Spain. They intend to cooperate with authorities to clarify the circumstances surrounding the accident. The Norwegian consulate is providing assistance, though a legal representative has not yet been appointed.

Spanish police are actively searching for the vehicle and driver responsible for the hit-and-run. The last confirmed sighting of Nikoline was at the Funky Buddha bar in Puerto Banús. The collision took place around 5:20 AM on the highway between Mijas and Calahonda, approximately a 20-minute drive from Puerto Banús.

The family has expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from their local community in Arendal. Kripos, Norway's National Criminal Investigation Service, has stated it is not currently involved in the investigation, which is being led by the Guardia Civil Tráfico.
