Noskova wins in Berlin and breaks into the top 10

Linda Noskova has claimed her second career title, and her first on grass, by defeating world number four Jessica Pegula in the Berlin final. The 21-year-old Czech player secured a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 victory after a match lasting two hours, a win that guarantees her a place among the world's top ten players.

Noskova, now the highest-ranked Czech player in the WTA rankings, overcame Pegula, who had previously eliminated world number one Aryna Sabalenka. This triumph adds the Berlin title to Noskova's previous win in Monterrey in 2025, with both being WTA 500 category events.

The final, which commenced five hours behind schedule due to inclement weather in Berlin, saw Noskova continue her strong form. This victory further bolsters her prospects ahead of the upcoming Wimbledon championships. Noskova has now won three of her four career meetings against Pegula, including two on hard courts, though Pegula had won their only previous grass-court encounter.
